What is the idea distance between every goods-to-be-tested which is tested in production line?
The depth of detection tunnel is the min. distance between every goods-to-be-tested. If the distance is not long enough, there will be more than two pieces of goods-to-be-tested in the detection tunnel at the same time and it will be very difficult to judge which one contains the metallic object.
How long is the pipeline keep metal-free construction in the detecting zone for free-fall detector, in order to avoid activating the metal detector?
For example, for a 25cmΦ detector, the length required for metal-free zone would be 60cm only.
Why is the detection tunnel made of plastic instead of stainless steel?
The purpose is to avoid adverse effect on sensitivity, so that we use heatproof ABS material instead. We take account of the hygienic and safe requirements in food industry. For metal construction, we use 316 stainless steel materials. For Non-metal construction, we adhere to use hygienic materials.
What is the maximum can the conveyor hold??
According to your requirements, we could offer various conveyors ranging from 1kg to 100kg.
What will the conveyor speed be?
There is a speed adjuster attached on our conveyor. The speeds could be available from 5m/min. to 40m/min. If you need a conveyor with speed more than 40m/min., we could replace the suitable motor for you.
Will the belt speed affect the sensitivity of metal detector?
Generally speaking, there is an adverse effect in sensitivity if the belt speed is too slow. We suggest that low speed is suitable for the goods-to-be-tested which belongs to high " product effect". If the goods-to-be-tested belongs to "non-product effect", then you do not have to adjust the belt speed. The sensitivity will not be affected much by the belt speed, please adjust the practical belt speed according to your production line.
How is the conveyor speed could reach the highest sensitivity?
Generally speaking, the highest sensitivity we specified is when the conveyor speed higher than 18m/min. If you adjust the conveyor speed lower than 18m/min., the sensitivity will be reduced. Even though it is, the effect is slight. For example: For the MD3010, if you turn down the conveyor speed from 18m/min to 10m/min, the standard sensitivity may be from 0.8Φ to 1.0Φ.
Can the metal detector detect non-ferrous materials?
Sure. Besides ferrous, it can detect the stainless steel, aluminum, copper and lead.
Will it be detected for any metallic object in whatever goods-to-be-tested?
Yes, it will. One of the advantages Compunic metal detector is that you don't have to pre-setting every goods-to-be-tested first to the detector and restore it. This is to say the machine can detect any metal inside whatever goods-to-be-tested in a very easy way. Every model has its highest sensitivity, which is related to the ingredients of the goods-to-be-tested. Some ingredients such as liquid form, salt or iron materials etc., may make a slight adverse effect on sensitivity.
When the HAND put through the detection tunnel, why the detector activate?
The hand or the physical body contains iron in its blood. When sensitivity is in high level, the detector will activate because of this iron material. Therefore the good-to-be-tested and the metallic testing card can not be put through the detector by HAND. Also some food ingredients contain the iron, such as the mud of small red beans, which will make the detector activate. In order to get normal operation, please adjust the sensitivity lower to those kinds of food ingredients.
Will the metallic object in meats be detected?
Blood and meat products are two kinds of products which will make the detector give false alarms. To reduce this false occurrence, you could detect those kinds of products after freezing it for better detecting result.
What is the meaning of "Product Effect"?
The effect caused by the ingredient of goods-to-be-tested (e.g. water or any conductive material contained in product) may interfere with the metal detector. Higher "Product Effect", it is easily to interfere with the metal detector and get a wrong alarm signal.
What is the minimum distance to the near by large-scale iron device from the metal detector to avoid interference?
Each brand has different requirement. For Compunic metal detector, it is only 10cm distance required.
Will the tiny metallic object still be detected if my goods-to-be-tested is packaged in big dimension?
The performance of sensitivity is inversely proportional to the size of detector aperture. Therefore the tiny metallic object can not be detected by big size of detector aperture. We suggest detecting your goods-to-be-tested before it is packaged and the dimension is still small, in order to get the optimal detecting result. Whatever your goods-to-be-tested is solid, liquid, powder or granular, Compunic offers various and suitable model for you.
How should I choose different sizes of the metal detectors for different production phases, so that I will obtain the best detection result and quality control?
Generally speaking, the smaller the detector aperture it is, the better the detection result it gains. Therefore, a small size detector is suggested for small packed products. When it comes to big packages, detection targets will be metals left outside of the small packs, such as machinery filings, screws, tools, and accessories…etc.
What can I do if I could not find the suitable height for the conveyor you listed on internet?
You could select a model that is close to the height you need, and than we will make adjustment to the foot racks for you.
Why the detector activate when there is no any metallic object inside the detection tunnel?
The possible reasons are listed below:
There is a Large-sized ironware moving near by, please move way the iron device.
There is large or frequency machinery working around the detector.
The conveyor belt is made from impure plastic materials. Please choose quality level and pure plastic materials for belt.
The conveyor contains metallic bits. Please clean the outside and inside of the belt regularly.
The metallic construction of conveyor is too close to the detector. The sensing tunnel should be metal-free. The distance must be kept at least 8cm away from the detector.
When the conveyor is working, the friction between belt and platform will produce static electricity, which will activate the detector. Please choose anti-static conveyor construction.
The base-frame is unstable to cause the detector shaking.
The voltage is unsteady. Please add constant voltage regulator.
If the detector responses to the goods-to-be-tested which contains no metallic object, it means the goods-to-be-tested belong to "product effect". Please turn down the sensitivity.
When put hand into the detection tunnel, the detector will activate. Please don't use hand to hold the testing piece to do the detecting procedure.
When the conveyor belt stops or pauses, why does the detector alarm the signal as restarting the belt?
The static electricity may gather at the conveyor belt when it stops for over 20 minutes. When restarting the belt, the released static electricity will activate the detector. If this happens, please turn down the sensitivity and let the conveyor run for 20 seconds. After static electricity is eliminated, please turn the sensitivity back to normal setting and the operation can resume.
Why does the filth on the conveyor or detection tunnel cause the operation abnormal?
With its high stabilization and low power consumption, Compunic metal detector will not give the wrong signal after long time operation. The wrong signal may occur by the filth or dust on the conveyor or detection tunnel. The reason is the electric conduction phenomenon may occur when the filth or dirt mix with water. This phenomenon will make the detector activate and then you have to make the detector work normally by turning down the sensitivity. Please clean the conveyor and detection tunnel regularly, especially in the area between the conveyor and detection tunnel.
